Ray - Still thinking of tips & tricks before you start with the paint 



So here's the clear mixing cups that I mentioned with various mixing graduations marked 



In this case I'm mixing a polyester primer 4 parts to 1 part hardener and you can easily reference the mixing ratio - the cups can still be used whilst the paint is wet - just wipe inner wall of the cup with the mixing stick to clear the graduation marked window for you 



Mixing stick with graduations marked - this covers 2:1 on one side & 3:1 on the other - different ratio sticks are available but you must use a mixing pot / receptacle that is vertically sided  



I use a gun canister system (3M PPS) that has a inbuilt / integral particle filter fitted to the lid  



You wont have this system but I would I highly recommend that you filter your paints prior to spraying 



So here is a old school system of filtering the paint 



Believe it or not before these filters came to the market we used to recycle ladies tights in the bodyshop for filtering the paint ! 

The mixing cups & filters come in large quantity packs and you will only use a handful - I have loads here and they are pennies as individual items - in fact the filters I'll never use again and I must have a pile of over a 100 sat in the stores - give me a day or so and I'll post the filters & cups up to you 

Ray - To key the epoxy - P320's - you could use a courser grade but you dont really want to be rubbing through the epoxy coat as that will defeat the object - However, you do need to remove any obvious defects in the epoxy before applying the high build otherwise you just making work for yourself 

Yes - The mini separators fitted to the air inlet of the spray gun are a good call - I don't use them personally as I have a very expensive devilbiss 3 filter system fitted to the compressor - but I'll also advise a little later (Once I'm finished for the day) on how to rig a temporary condensation loop into your airline

Thanks Chris. The spray gun to the best of my knowledge is this one. www.machinemart.co.uk/p/pgf14-gravity-fed-pro-spray-gun/ No information on pressures on the website. There is a pressure gauge on the regulator which I think is set about 50psi at present but no gauge at the gun end. I did turn the pressure up yesterday (to 50psi) which seemed to help and today (after a bit of Youtube last night) I turned the pressure screw on the bottom of the spray gun out but didn't turn the regulator pressure back down. Will experiment tomorrow on the outer sills which will be covered by the bolt on sills. Definitely need practise before I get to the final top coat.

High build primer on everything then. Might try that tomorrow.

In addition the the stupidly heavy panel stand I made I had a look on Facebook Marketplace and found one sort of locally for £10. Seized solid with layer after layer of paint on it. Got it cleaned enough to adjust and use for now.



Got the boot floor in high build primer now. The sides will have 4 way stretch carpet glued on so they can stay in epoxy primer but the floor will have a loose fit carpet so that will be gloss white. The rear panel will have a carpet covered trim which clips into place.



Rear wings and back panel now in high build primer. Lots of rubbing down to do on them and some Cromax putty and Dolphin Glaze to correct imperfections.







Late night last night so glad I have the rest of the week off to look after my daughters dog. Back on the job on Saturday, up to Moffat on Sunday for lunch with my brother and sister which is the halfway point for both of us. Got the dog again Monday and Tuesday. Hard work being retired, should have stayed in work. Eh no, maybe not.
