1974 Austin 1300GT - Looks a pretty sound & clean car - 47,000 miles - engine & gearbox rebuilt and its very fairly priced - I'm hoping that Paul is on to this one (I've sent him a heads up e mail to that effect anyway)

Paul has paid for pre-check which details a Cat A write off in Sept 2020, it has had a change of ownership, been through an MOT test and been taxed since being written off.
I've emailed vendor who claims it's an Irish import which has been given the registration from a written off Volvo. He says it's all in the description - it's not. Seems unfeasibly cheap to me given the appearance of the car, I'd want to make more detailed enquiries. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174824379737?hash=item28b4585559

The vendor has messaged me through ebay with the following:
New message from: bellegarde1.0796 (174Turquoise Star)
Good morning Tim,
I am writing in connection with the investigation raised on the above vehicle registration.
The vehicle that you have check has a short digit VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), these are now usually 17 digits. Short VINs are not unique to one vehicle and can be associated with other vehicles/plant machinery, some of which may be subject to outstanding finance, stolen and insurance loss interests.
I can confirm that we have fully checked our records and can confirm that the VOLVO 340 GL currently registered as a scrap marker on the HPI is definitely not related to the vehicle registration RSX514M that you are checking.
Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to amend your report. I hope this confirmation is of use to your enquiries. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards

Please can you post this as obviously this is messing with my sale

1971 Austin 1300 Mk2 - Manual - looks to have been 'Ziebarted' (rust protection) from new which is why the engine bay / under bonnet is black - 68,000 miles - clean and fairly priced at £4,250

Morris 1300 Traveller. Carms. £Auction. 1972. Off the road for quarter of a century. Changed hands 18 mths ago but current owner has abandoned the project. A money pit. A set of chicken's gnashers. Deserves saving!

Wolseley 1300 Mk II. London. £5K 1972. Auto to manual conversion, (Vanden Plas engine & box transplant). Synchromesh issues? Out of MOT, (exempt), nothing concerning in MOT history but looks to have been parked up for a while in the past? Current owner has had it less than 18 months. It is 'blue' according to DVLA, colour change? Looks decent enough for the money! Handsome in two-tone colour scheme, one to use and improve.

1964 MG 1100 Mk 1 - Rare variant - very well presented - 32,000 miles needs nothing other than some minor detailing under the bonnet - well priced at £7,500
And, of course, it never hurts to look a nice old car twice. Obviously in no rush to sell if he hasn't tweaked the price. Perhaps a couple of weeks of sun would do it for him?
MG 1100. Notts. £13½K. 1967. Low mileage. Extensively restored. Long MOT. Impressive MOT history with 2 fails only on less important issues.
Whilst it appears to be a very nice example that is decent 1300 GT money. Is it worth that? I can see a few flaws, more experienced eyes than mine will pick out more. Concours money for a sub-concours example?
Because the front to rear pipe that connects the front & rear displacers on each side is leaking - the pipes are a swine to change from memory and requires dropping the front subframe down to get the pipes to go up the bulkhead (I think but its many decades since I last did one and many cars have travelled through my hands since) - You can cheat and split the one piece pipes then rejoin them with a compression fitting but in the main the replacement of the hydrolastic pipes is fraught with woe
