Just a few weeks away from this fabulous event 'Revival' is credited as the worlds best gathering & racing of historic race cars - All set to a highly detailed period theme - there are many imitations of the event but nothing gets close to it - Needless to say my annual pilgrimage is nearly planned
My tickets and passes are have arrived but I have many other things to sort including ensuring that the period outfit is sorted
There's some Javelin fettling to do before it goes - sadly the lovely Mrs GN is currently working abroad to a very tight schedule and it looks like she will have to give the event a miss
On track Jowett interest is represented by Julian Crossley's superb Javelin which is fresh from a engine build with extensive commitment to research & development of the power unit - The Javelin runs in the St Marys Trophy
The dates are 8 - 10th September 2023 - link below

Packing and preparations are in full swing in the toomanyprojects household... which means the wardrobes have been emptied in search of the outfits of choice for this year and various bits of prep are being undertaken when the day job isn't getting in the way.
With summer finally appearing it's timed perfectly... Bring on Thursday!

Fellow Javelin owner & good friend Peter has travelled some 900 miles over the last 2 days - All the way from Switzerland to attend Revival - Not only attend but work the Javelin in the Revival classic taxi fleet along with myself and fellow Jowett owners
Arriving yesterday afternoon he came bearing gifts in lieu of his accommodation & hospitality at Grumpy Towers, we'll spend a few days together catching up, prepping the Javelins and getting loaded ready for our departure on Thursday morning - Goodwood is only a hour away from here and pretty pleasant run - lots of people to catch up with throughout the event including several members of this very forum

Early start this morning for one of the 'fun' jobs in preparation...
Papers are also now all in order, I had the annual 'moment' where I thought I'd forgotten to book something (i.e. the camping!), but thankfully all is well. Phew

In between many other current tasks / projects / undertakings my Javelin got a check over yesterday, brakes adjusted and a grease round along with tyre pressures checked etc - also sorted was the non working 12 volt plug in socket for the USB phone charger - pretty essential when camping for several days and there is no where to charge your phone or for the airbed pump to plug into to
Several jobs sorted on Peters Javelin too, non working radiator fan, bonnet catch adjusted, boot lock were all sorted along with an initial list of paintwork that Peter would like resolved over winter - Today we shall get the cars loaded up ready for a early departure (after breakfast) on Thursday morning

I see the dress code for the paddocks has been 'relaxed' as a result of the weather, no need for jacket and tie, instead you can wear long trousers and shirts in period style.

Were nearly ready too - cars were washed & packed yesterday - I still have a few minor things to sort this morning like ironing the dress shirts for the period attire - but other than that we are good to go after breakfast
Yes indeed thanks all round for the piccies and tickets.
It was a relatively short day for us, as the weather on Saturday was fierce being the hottest day of the year. The plan was to see a bit of everything and everyone before exhaustion and sunburn called a halt to proceedings
But heat wiped us out, and the sun fried me alive.
