I flagged this one (MEE) up on 'the other site' a while back, then it was a genuine garage find which had been recommissioned, MOT'd and was up for a very reasonable £5½K. I imagine he'd have chiselled at least £500.00 off the asking price and put it back on ebay without doing a thing to it with £2K added to his price. Like that GT, this dealer bransdalerip / Martin Howey has had other ADO16's online which he's picked up scruffy, tarted them up with all effort and expense spared and loaded the price greedily. It's not terrible at £7K but at £5½K was quite an attractive buy. As much as I love all ADO16's, this is my favourite and I think half the number of doors make it twice the car.

Best avoided then !
↑ I was editing my text while you replied ↑. I think this is a sound genuine car and he wouldn't have needed to touch it before putting it back up for sale. I'd have rather paid £5½K though! This looks great but if I was searching for one I'd want the round dials and ideally two-tone paint and a vinyl sunroof.
Sadly this is a earlier mk2 model. So had the strip speedo. Standard steering wheel. Standard exhaust etc. Also the important engine has box is standard 1300 unit. The improved GT engine and gearbox came in later in production and this car doesn’t have it although the states it is a GT engine and box which is wrong. Dealers do seem to be snapping these up which is a shame that genuine enthusiasts can’t get them at the right price without paying dealer premiums. This car looks good at the price you could of previously got it for at 5k.
Hmmm; potentially a fair buy, even if there were other areas of welding required which he's not declaring, it's not rotten. I'd want to check the engine would turn over on the crank before parting with any cash. Assuming the car will run, with enough work to merit an MOT, it would make a great rolling resto project for someone.

Mathewsons have 2 for sale at their December 12th 2020 auction
First one is this smart little 1970 2 door Austin 1100 - its been in storage so it wants recommissioning but if that 38,000 mileage reading is original and the car is as described largely original / unwelded / free of major rot - guide is £3,500 and at this price + auction costs / commission would make it a expensive purchase if you then have to spend a grand or so recommissioning it - if you could bag it for around £3k it would be worth a punt - SOLD £3,360
Next one is this 67' Mk1 Morris 1100 in 4 door flavour - looks smart enough and it has a 1300 engine fitted to it - there's no MOT history on it but it is on the road - no idea on the mileage - Guide is £3,250 - SOLD £3,248

1967 Riley Kestrel
Looks sound but not that well presented and most certainly overpriced @ £9,500 - although its a rare manual variant of the model but the vendor cant even be bothered to vac the carpets clean before taking the pics
