The Members Meeting is next weekend - Its a great chilled out historic motorsport event - not quite the atmosphere of Revival but a fab event and without the heavy crowds that Revival draws
Providing the race Javelin's (quite hurriedly) rebuilt engine comes good in Dyno testing tomorrow - I'll be at the meeting - anyone else attending / want to catch up over a coffee

Alas not, logistics and a few other commitments/responsibilities have got in the way this year. One day I'll make it.
On the positive it does mean a weekend in the workshop finally catching up after a bit of a hiatus. So I might have it on live stream at the same time as the next best thing. Hope the weather is kinder that previous years!
Is the 3rd picture above the chain driven Fraser Nash (known as the owlet) driven by Nick Swift? I saw that race on tv (hopefully it is on Youtube ) I am sure the race was red flagged near the end because of a serious accident but didn't hear the outcome of that.

Correct - Owlet was driven by Nick Swift - the race was red flagged about 9 laps in when a car overturned at St Mary's - You need to be very brave to drive one of these - chain drive - live rear axle (No differential) beasts - No roll cage or harness - The driver was air lifted by helicopter to Southampton General with fairly serious chest injuries but he's recovering well and the prognosis is good

Some race pics then - now I only have a non fancy phone camera - the shots are just plain & simple nothing super sharp or dramatic come to that but may give you some idea of the action
A race for the classic bikes is included in the programme - not really my scene but interesting enough
More my type of thing
Demonstration laps from a field of V8 & V10 Formula 1 cars of the late 90's early 2000's proved more interesting than it sounds just purely from the engine noise emitted from them

Bonhams hold a auction at the 3 main Goodwood race events - this race modified Beemer 2002 Coupe being my pick of the offerings - offered at probably a fraction of the original build cost - it changed hands for a little under £29k which providing the engine wasn't goosed was a fair price
Nicely executed Jag XK140 and just 500 miles since restoration but probably the left hand drive held it back on price - sold at £57,500 - a very wise purchase at this money
Plenty of other temptations on offer but I'm currently moving cars on - not purchasing so hands remained firmly in my pockets
Still a good few posts left from the photo file yet to come
