Its over 70 years ago that the world's first GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) bodied car was built - 1949 to be exact
Glasspar G2 Built by Californian Bill Tritt - It started a revolution especially for the smaller production manufacture, written off by many fibreglass bodied cars executed correctly can stand against any steel or alloy clad bodied car
Whilst some designs were quite bizarre
Others were pure classic and developed cult status / desirability from launch to market
It also made the production of kit cars far easier allowing the individual to build their own car in the garage at home
Whilst some failed others succeeded and its a pretty substantial list of the cars that are still out there, still favoured by many for the rust free qualities - it also allowed a significant number of race teams to build their own bodies & panels in multiple compound curvatures therefore highly aero dynamic and at a fraction of the cost that it would have cost to produce in in alloy - So your classic GRP vehicle images please

One owned by a local friend that just so happened to die while coming past the other afternoon. A push down the road and on to the drive for a quick diagnosis pointed to the coil packing up. I managed to find a couple of spares I had lying about and sure enough one did the job and it fired straight back up.

Saved me getting the trailer out to get him home!
On first reading I thought your friend had died!
I think he wished he'd done, his other half wasn't very impressed, when I arrived she was found arms crossed in the passenger seat and her 'surprise afternoon location' wasn't quite as expected, albeit still a surprise.
