ive tried to steer clear of kit cars as they can be a bit...well , naff. there are however two that i have always had a real soft spot for the NG TC and UVA GTR/Montage.
Burlington SS i built in the early eighties . Utterly awful thing looking back ,but i was young ... It was light, and went like the clappers . I fitted a 2.5TC engine , which bolted straight up to the Vitesse O.D gearbag , and because it was light, the camber on the rear wheels looked stupid ,so i grafted on a GT6 rotoflex rear end . I'll not say how i fitted the MGB wheels..but I'm still alive ..
When i was 11 ,i cut a deal with my best mate . Who ever was first to make a million quid between us , I'd have to buy him an E type , or he'd have to buy me a DB6 . Well, neither of us became rich ..And i bumped into him at about 30.. He'd just got divorced and gone bankrupt..and had nothing ..but still happy go lucky .. He mentioned why was the Burlington sat under a tree for years ,going green at my Parents house ? (My wife refused to go in it,after it stepped out a bit on a wet roundabout one night ..and i'd moved on to other things and lost interest in it.) I reminded him of our deal as kids , and said he could have the kit car instead, as it was the best i could do ! He was delighted ! I still see him occasionally , i've never seen the car since , and i've never asked what happened to it . I had the number plate and sold it . I've seen that on a BMW sports car locally.

Love stories like this! Thank God it's not only me !!@
Passing Morgans going the other way , they would frantically wave ..I never did have the bolloxs to wave back because mine was a fake ! It didn't even have doors.. Funny thing i do remember about it ..I got those MGB wire wheels with tyres from a bloke i knew who worked in a scrapyard , but there was only 4..
I wanted a 5th to go on the boot , and later he found me one, but no tyre . So off to the tyre centre i went for a 165 14 sr ..or whatever it was ... And they struggled .. and struggled ..it wouldn't go on .. The bloke in the scrappers had nicked an MGC wheel ..15" !!
