Love him or loathe him there's no disputing that he got his hands on the controls of some very special vehicles, once famously elbowing his way to the controls of a Vulcan bomber to "Have a go!" and piloting Concorde at Mach 2. I'll start the ball rolling . . .

Pretty sure that once they stopped with 'off with his head' this is about as much fun as a Royal can have - ribbon cutting would be a very very distant second. Not a life I would ever want or aspire to.

Not wishing to derail the thread but I had a plasterer come and do quite a lot of work for me on a London property - he explained that he was the gofer / brake man / for his wife's carriage driving - he met the duke on many occasions of whom he spoke of very highly and explained to me that he just treated everybody at the event with a down to earth very humorous attitude
