Right, back on with the workshop project... and the minor distraction.
So coat of paint on the walls, coat on the floor... well as much as I could with what I had available, tidy the wires in some leftover plastic piping then leave to dry for a day or two before liberally filling with the house overspill (mainly car magazines/books and paraphernalia I'm not allowed elsewhere)
Pink chairs and rug especially for JB
Those with an eagle eye will notice that we also don't have a welcoming workshop cat that others may have, even though there is a dedicated entrance for them... yes, really. Instead we have a Steve...

So seating, tea making and general dog house furnished, back on with sorting the main workshop then.
Right on time, first thing this week a little parcel arrived
Yup you guessed it, all 450kgs of it helpfully dumped at the end of the drive. I even purposely hid and sent out SWMBO to act all innocent and to ask the nice man if he would back the lorry down the drive to unload etc. Got a response of 'won't fit, not doing it' I think her then reply along the lines of 'what do you mean? do you want me to do it?' may have tipped him over the edge
So with a cheerful 'Not my problem' it was dumped unceremoniously and off he drove (think he was a glove-wearing prop releaser for those of you who have read Ian's A35 van build )
Never mind, if in doubt adopt a bit of clarkson-esque logic to solving the problem, attach strap and rope to the pallet and disco towbar,
engage off-road mode to raise the front edge up and apply powerrrr. Despite the wife's protests it was strangely effective
Little bit of manhandling to get it through the doors of the workshop and a minor bit of set up to do
and it's now good to use in anger... for possible the smallest car on the fleet

Not a great deal to update on, but there has been a minor win on the workshop front. Wheel skates arrived and as the lift is too wide for the small '7, it meant I could do this
Much to the wife's nervousness
In all seriousness, doing things that way round actually works out rather well as the bits we want to get to for fluid changes/servicing are now even more accessible.
We got one of those little ramps for the workshop a little while ago. Quite a handy piece of kit, just a bit of faff getting the pads under the car. Also the height can be an issue if your 6ft plus height! But yeah a good little thing! They say they are mobile, but you need a team to move it!

I've been really impressed with it so far, not had chance to properly use it in anger with the disco etc. but with the casters etc it's a lot easier to move on my own than I was envisaging and will be ideal for the '7 and TF for the time being until I can get the rest here.

That won’t last. Give it a month or so and it will be full of Toyota parts 🤣🤣🤣

Oh it will - they are elsewhere
more to the point I'd get in to a lot of grief! 🤣🤣

Time for another area update and two for the price of one this time. What I like to call 'The Danger Zones'*. Allow me to explain.
Located in Mess/Doghouse etc. and above the workshop 'facility' is a set of steps up to the first
Part of the reason for not having a 2 poster is that it would seriously dent the capacity and ability of this space to act as parts storage
With the number of projects currently 'in progress' at present it's simply not worth losing at the current time.
However there is another similar zone elsewhere...
There are potentially some alternative plans for this second space depending on a)how long this working from home malarkey continues and b) planning. You get the idea.
*I should point out these pics were taken when the PO was in residence and I/we have in no way managed to fill them to the level shown... yet. and that's why they are the danger zones, because if you have them you have an opportunity to fill them with, err, stuff. I've already been 'told' ☠☠☠ awaits.😬😬😬

Good luck on that front - meanwhile Mrs GN does her best to cram anything into any space that I have anywhere - Frustrating thing is it's stuff that will never get used - its just using the space for the sake of it & hugely frustrating

I can imagine. We are determined to at least try, the point of moving to somewhere like this was to get everything in one place and then consolidate things a little using the twelve month rule for everything asides project car related bits. i.e. if you've not used it in twelve months and are unlikely to in the next twelve, then it needs to go unless there is a serious case for it not to.
Should be interesting - might be some stuff appearing in the for sale section in the not too distant future...
