Nope not the thread where you have loaned / liberated a part from your mate - vowed to return or replace it and never have or did but a place for where other vehicle manufactures borrowed parts from other franchised brands - now lets leave the kit car builders out of this one please that's a whole different market to the one I'm referring to - lets kick off with something nice & exotic
In 1968 Lamborghini launched the worlds fastest 4 seater supercar
(you can stick your modern stuff - I'd run one of these any day given the choice - or a 400GT) - the Mk 1 & 2 borrowed the rear light units from Fiat's 124 Coupe
On the series 3 they continued the borrowing the rear lamps theme
Only this time they came from the Alfa Romeo 2000
Please go ahead and post your observations & pics - but please note different vehicle manufactures not different models by the same vehicle manufacture (that one is way too easy)
Rover 75 Connie SE (stored) MG ZTT 160 (for sale) Rover 75 Connie Tourer (dog hauler and general shifter) Toyota Starlet Sportif Auto (town car) Maestro 700 van (under build)

The Reliant Scimitar borrowed the external flap type door handles on the later models from The BL range of cars such as the Allegro & the later Marina / Ital range
Needless to say that the Scimitar also borrowed it's motive power from Ford - the 3 litre V6 Essex engine and in later years the 2.7 litre V6 Cologne engine - very early cars built from 1964 - 1966 were fitted with Ford's straight 6 - 2.6 litre engine taken from the Fords Zephyr / Zodiac range

Bitter SC - built between 1979 & 1989
Was based upon the Opel Senator - hand built less than 500 examples were produced in coupe (461) sedan (5) & convertable (22) - they were at the time considered to be of a supercar status - in the early 80's the founding director of a company that I worked for purchased one new and can recall over £80,000 changing hands for it

Lotus Europa
Utilised the engine & transaxle from the Renault 16 but in a reverse configuration - the engine was designed to go behind the transaxle on the Renault 16 which then transmitted drive to the front wheels - Lotus turned the unit through 180 degrees to power the rear wheels - however, the crown wheel required repositioning to resolve the issue of having 1 forward gear & 4 reverse due to the rotation of the drive train - I think the bumpers came from elsewhere / another manufacture too - still trying work out which one
