Austin Maestro Diesel van. W Yorks. £? 1991. Yet another 'barn find'. For restoration. Parked up 8 years. Quite a few clean MOT passes prior to corrosion being advised. Auction ending soon, no bids, £600 start. The non-Turbo Perkins Prima lump returned 55+mpg.

Tempting but not tempting enough - needs too much work - paint job fine but I cant get into a weldathon + recommission mechanicals + whatever else etc - I simply don't have the time and its pointless me kidding myself that I have
Jowett Bradford truck (x 2) & spares. Bristol. £11K 1951 lorry in good running order, (no MOT history) 1952 lorry part restored and cache of spares.
Very much aware of this through the Jowett Car Club (I'm a committee member & also a member of the clubs vehicle valuation panel) - unfortunately the vendor is in dreamland on pricing - the green truck is pretty much together but lacks rear mudguards and its more oily rag in appearance than anything with worn seats & matt finish paint - a concours example of the model would be £10 - £12k which relegates this one closer to £6 -£7k - the project appears to be a cut down van (look at that rear bulkhead roofline - nothing factory about that) - its value is £1,500
Austin Maestro van. Co Tyrone.£2,250.00 [ !! SOLD !! ] 1987. Contradictory information on DVLA websites; MOT history shows this van as being 10 years out of MOT with a mileage of over 170K miles, also lots of welding for last MOT. MOT status shows it as being currently MOT'd & Taxed. Owner claims mileage of 67K miles.
What appears to be a far better prospect is this 1987 Manta Executive - apparently requiring welding for its MOT but there's no traceable MOT history on the car - looks like a decent starting point none the less and priced at £3k

VW Polo C Formel E (Breadvan). Fife. £1,800.00 [ !! SOLD !! ] 1984. In need of some work, possibly just tuning? Drives, (roughly). MOT'd. MOT history suggests less than thorough maintenance but no corrosion ever detected. Looks clean enough for the money.

Funny enough these have been catching my eye - with sensibly priced vans rarely coming to the market - something like this that has a bit of load space would do the job - easily upgraded with plenty of options - VW scene tax is just starting to apply on these so I would have to be quick - this would be perfect - However 'Fife' - yep its lovely part of the country but its a 900 mile - 2 day round trip - which I simply cant find the time for - if it was within 100 / 150 miles of me the trailer would be behind the P38 and on its way to collect it

In my family we had a Derby (booted Mk 1 Polo), a Mk 2 Polo which went down through 3 generations, I have owned a Mk 1 Golf, a Mk 2 Golf and a 6N Polo. Without exception they were all fantastic cars, reliable and mechanically robust. Fields ahead of the BL, Ford & Vauxhall offerings of their era.
The Mk 2 breadvan doesn't have the looks or kudos of the Mk 1 but is a decent and capable little car;

What a shame this is out is Aus otherwise I'd be hooking the trailer up to collect it at that price - super rare - the vendor is correct in his statement 'Find another'
