Found this today. Not the best picture but this is my uncle cleaning his shoes at the door of the cottage we had our summer holidays in for about 4 years and his Morris 1000. not sure what year this was but his next car was one of the first Hillman Avengers so before 1970/71. Location is some way up a mountain called Gyrn Goch at Clynnog-fawr in Wales. Was a bit of an expedition in those days as the M6 didn't start until Preston and there was no M8 so it was back roads to get out of Glasgow and onto the A74, then A6 through Penrith, Kendal, Lancaster and finally onto the M6 at Preston. Charnock Richards was always the first stop for fuel etc.
I remember the "rag and bone" (I think that was what they were called) man with his horse and cart when I was a lad. Clip clop of the horse and a blast of his bugle followed by him shouting "any old iron" or something similar.
