Regarding the spares situation, the club was having a difficult time when this work was happening, their excellent spares secretary had died unexpectedly & there being no one else ready to take on the role the directors took the controversial decision to no longer sell parts & so the stock was sold to a trader who is also a long standing club member & owner. Meanwhile the guy who ran the used parts continues to do so but as an independent recommended by the club. The original workshop manual for the 12 & 16 models published by Austin contains all the information that you would need, copies come up regularly at autojumbles & on Ebay for around £25.
Many thanks for the info but long sorted - In fact I believe that fer4l has probably scratched the itch and is willing to sell the vehicle should you know of anyone looking for one

I would love an Austin 16 but like many people I have no more room. If anybody would like an Austin 16 restoration project the club used spares man took one in in a dismantled state earlier last year, it was deemed to be restorable & he advertised it within the club however recently he has said that as no one has taken it on it may end up as parts. If interested contact Graham at Potts Parts from this link, you don’t have to be a club member. www.austincounties.org.uk/
