I agree. They are not even good looking and for that sort of money just think what else you could buy, enjoy driving and have a sizeable bank balance left over.

I had a bunch of Escorts through the 80's & 90's forced upon me as company cars - I never liked them - lucky if we got a choice of colour too - The bean counters then decided that would save £5.00 per annum if they replaced what was a 1.4 petrol car (that you had to drive with with a brick on the accelerator to get anywhere) with 1.6 diesels - I was at the time commuting daily from the bottom end of Yorkshire to Mid Lancashire - 180 mile round trip 90% of it motorway when they put the gutless piece of oil burning crap under my feet - Virtually no chance of overtaking the 55 MPH HGV traffic coming up windy hill on the M62 so useless was it - I left the said employer very shortly afterwards and vowed to never own a Escort in my life.
and while we are on the subject $204,750 for an e-type. (162,000 GBP) I know it is a very special car having won a couple of Concours d'Elegance (read that in another article) but, yikes! Seems like you could get a $80000 car and spend another 80k 'finishing' it and still be to the good.
