Very, very nice & as expected excellent workmanship but makes me happy that I didn't send the vintage Jowett engine barrel (also for laser welding) in a specifically built case or box does this mean that teaboy has been busy in his workshop with the infamous oil tank whilst you've been busy with gluing his fins back together or has been or has he been busy with yet further oil tank distraction policies
As far as I am aware , teaboy has been building a mighty fine building in his back garden. He’s told his Missus it’s a new workshop, but honestly ,that I think was just a ruse for planning permission. It’s actually going to be an art gallery for his oil gallery contents container,if he ever finishes it ....🤣🤣🤣
He started it.....😊 Lets not go there. Had enough of that the last couple of days🙄 But teaboy has definitely raised the bar in how to pack items that are to be sent to me 🤣🤣🤣

I'm still distracted with gardening.
Besides clearing the patch of ground for my 'art gallery' I have the adjoining area to clear because well, I hate gardening, and the whole place has been neglected for years so it has become like the wilds of Borneo.
There are trees which were very small the last time I looked.
I also found an emergency back up shed which was completely hidden by the undergrowth.
It does need a bit of repair, so that's another job I've got to do...

Another random one, also for somebody of this Parish. Build thread promised soon 👍🏻😊 Started out as a 210mm round lump of steel that I put up in the mill Milled out a pocket Lunchtime it was looking like leek soup After lunch it had leaked soup after having some detail machined into it
Into the cnc lathe where I had turned a mandrel to bolt it on already that I could finish turn the outside Started roughing out with a skinny little 0,75mm wide grooving tool. Needs must 😊 Can you see what it adds up to? Nearly there Job done Because Suoercharger....👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I don’t think you get more random than, “ Johnny , I want you to look at my Weasel’s crack” 🤣🤣 Needless to say ,it wasn’t that kind of Weasel or that kind of crack. Rather a Jowett Weasel barrel and head assembly that had probably frozen in one of the last 90 winters or so. Before getting too involved it was given a very sympathetic glass bead blast
Followed by dychem, basically a dye penetrant system that will seep into cracks and show up where they start and finish.
There was a mark in the barrel itself that worried me. Turned out it was a light score mark, nothing sinister
Knowing what I had to play with, I ground out the crack with a ball nose burr, having drilled a hole either end to start off with.
Ready to pull out the laser welder and give it a bit of attention
