This may take a bit of getting used to resizing the pictures so be patient with me its going to be learning on the job!
Its not really standard but its how I like it, the grill is for the continental models where they weren't allowed oblong headlamps which I think was North America and Australia, engine wise its up from the original 2000cc slant 4 engine to 2300cc, lightened & balanced, hairy cam, twin 48 Dellortos, tubular high level exhaust, Fraud type 9 5 speed gearbox, Salisbury 4HA axle with LSD, bare interior with bucket seats and standard 6 dial dash
This only went out twice last year and none this year! It always starts and runs fine so it was driven from the barn to see the last of the summer sun for a wash!
It was in a sorry state, the barn is dry but as its well ventilated it gets a lot of moss and rubbish blown in, so to mark the dawn of a new forum I spent sunday washing and polishing!
I did the paint job many years ago in cellulose panel by panel as no local painter wanted the job in black, its a 10 foot paint job really but
Something for the weekend! Who doesn't like a bit of billet! It does have a vernier pulley on at present but its the old cast steel peg type so this should freshen things up and give me a chance to check the cam timing again, the standard slant 4 distributor was an AC Delco unit that had an advance curve like a drunk at closing time so this Bosch unit was rebuilt by H&H with no vac advance and a mechanical advance curve specified by me
Iβve always had a soft spot for the Viva GT ever since my next door neighbour had one when I was about four years old. It was LeMans blue with a black bonnet and had four exhaust pipes. I thought that anything with four tailpipes must be really fast.
Nothing much happening but a couple of pictures for strikey, ive had the car many years and am now trying to make it a bit more user friendly noise wise, the sound of big carbs sucking and snuffling is ok when your 30 but at 56 its a bit tiresome so we fabricated a big alloy air box with a cold feed fed from under the arch.
It does actually feel like it runs better, smoother and maybe even a wee bit more poke but that might be my imagination!

It all appeals to me from the presentable & fully functional side of the fence
Ive got a bit of tinkering to do engine wise so will get some under bonnet pictures then, Im trying not to peak to early which may be an age thing!
Are we (ahem) 'nearly there' yet??!! π
Err well not really, quickly thinks of valid excuses!!
Im a bit stuck for good indoor space but im working on it, one barn has no lighting and the floors concrete but all over the place, the other good barn is full of stuff!
