Having been in the trade for a number of decades and have both bought & sold at auction on many occasions - it looks easy but you can so easily get burnt if you are not careful regardless of if you are a vendor or purchaser - none the less it's an interesting market with a good lump of theatre & brinkmanship thrown in - it quite often unearths & presents some of the rarer more unusual vehicles - provides for the occasional bargain along with tales of woe - I've experienced some very pleasant surprises but also ended up with a few lemons and lost decent money before today but don't let me put you off - this thread will be dedicated to the occasional look around what different specialist action houses have on the market and a follow up in the prices achieved - currently the classic / retro auction market is very strong - the auction houses have adopted well to online selling platforms with the current pandemic - some vendors seeing it as a easy option that devoid's the requirement to advertise a vehicle then meet potential purchasers face to face - on the other hand potential purchasers can have a video tour of the vehicle on offer and have time on their hands to explore the options of a online live sale whilst sat in the comfort of their own home - hence currently record sales at auction are being recorded - lets have look at what's currently on offer
