1959 Ford Country Sedan - Project Towcar Part Deux !!

Funny, isn't it?

Many years ago, I was sent to Thailand (first trip to the Far East - and my downfall) to try and sort out an ailing project.

The Country Manager gripped me and gave me a comprehensive rundown on the several Thai meanings of the word, "Yes".

Yes = No
Yes = Maybe
Yes = (under extreme circumstances) Yes

Note the same smile.

Got to say, we turned the project around, but probably wouldn't if I'd not had a guy with 20+ years out there to point me the right way.

Here, I love the reason for being late for everything. "Many traffic." Trouble is, it's so ingrained that they still use it now and they're all working at home!

in our house , "dreckly" , is generally known to mean "i'll get round to it at some point whenever , maybe , but possibly sooner if i really get my ears chewed"!

So we established that what was on the pallet was indeed a suitable lump of V8 goodnessry, next job is to decide whether to hurl it in the hole & see what gives, or to pull it to pieces for an investigative / precautionary rebuild

Pull the plugs,rocker covers ,and the sump and have a look see .Then,if all looks well,bung it back together and  in the hole😊

Or stick it in - get it down the road whilst sourcing the correct original type engine & rebuild that prior to doing a swap with current engine candidate (which I think / assume is your intention anyway) - anyhow what we really need to see is it moving under some form of motive power soon (No pressure ) rather than on the back of a truck with amber beacons 

I think if I had an engine stand big enough it would be worth pulling the sump and checking the crank bearings at least, pull the rocker covers off as well, do these suffer from bent pushrods?

Decision = put oil in it, pop the gearbox on (solely for starter location) tip a cuplet of fuel in the carb & see if she runs

If seau, threau in the eaule, & eaupe for the best

If not, no time wasted buttoning up
