Various Cars - not interesting enough for separate threads

Well time for a bit of an update. Mrs JP and I have been diligently house hunting with no results. Yesterday we put an offer in on an 1881 Cheap Farmhouse. I kid you not, when they marketed the plans back in the day that is what they were called. This is the super common centre hall plan Ontario vernacular farmhouse.

It was a bidding war - this in spite of increased interest rates and fears for the economy. We went in over asking (there were two bids) and they countered with an offer $130,000 over that - Er no. So not that house.

Looking at more tomorrow. Mrs JP's favourite house by a long shot is a little outside our preferred area but has everything - including a garage with heated floor and two piece bath. Oh and there is another two car garage on the property. Hmmm Carry On Dear!

In other news I picked up a new vehicle today. Sadly I wrote of Mrs JP's Mini about a month ago   Got this to replace it 2021 Mitsubishi RVR (maybe called a Sport in other countries) All wheel drive and only 10,000 km. I like it but it is quite basic. Question. In other forums it seems like others are able to 'upgrade' their cars by adding accessories to already existing wiring. Has anyone any experience with adding sensors? side beep/ rear beep/ car passing beep? I have only used it on the rental we had but it is kind of nice. Oh and first automatic car since 2002. 

If its any consolation virtually the equivalent level of stupidity applies to the UK housing market too !  

Shame the one in Mitchell looks a nice place, works out about 714k in English money, do you have to pay any other taxes on top of the price? over here we have to pay stamp duty on property which varies on the property price so its basically just another cash bonus for the governments to squander!

Annnd we didn't get the house. Da*n. Pivoted and another offer submitted yesterday. Hoping to hear in the next hour or two. (I hate this cr*p)

Time for another update. We have been in crazy packing mode. This is the first time we have ever had to pay for a move with our own money so, getting rid of stuff and doing our own packing. The good news is that Mrs JP is the daughter of a mover so is very very good at packing. She also has literally no packrat tendencies. The bad news is that this lack of pack ratness does not extend to the garage.   Oh and we are going to be a month without a house as this one closes at the end of July and moving date for the new one is September 1. We are staying about an hour away at a retreat centre that has small apartments. I have a place for the Vauxhall and will take the MG but, the Austin and all the parts have to go somewhere.

Yes they can go on the truck and may yet but, I am trying to find a garage in the County (Prince Edward County where we are moving is just called the County). Today was hot and very humid and I did this:

BTW note to self - rebuild the engine last next time! At any rate it hasn't been off the stand for probably a decade. Got it down on a cart, got the flywheel on, and the clutch and the pressure plate and.... wait a minute that clitch doesn't have the same splines. So decided to call it a day and I suspect I will install the old clutch for now, it still has lots of meat and if it works it works and of not will remove it later - but for now having the engine in the car makes everything easier!

Oh and I had to dig the old engine hoist out of the shed - took some head scratching before I remembered one piece was still tucked away in there.
