Car was loaded to my trailer yesterday
And is now in storage with lots of other car related friends until the calibrated instruments are returned and DVLA issue a UK registration number for it !

After a round of strong words with a company that quoted 3 - 4 weeks to calibrate the two instruments that still weren't completed 13 weeks later - they turned up
Which in turn meant that I could go and collect the car out of storage - stood 3.5 months - turned the master switch on - pulled the choke out spun over twice and started straight up
Its now in the workshop - I don't have a lot to do to it - refit the instruments - adjust the handbrake - quick check over and I can recommence the road testing

Valeted & loaded to its trailer
The trailer has been specified for the car and remains with it - Richard want's the family to achieve full use of the car hence the trailer giving them the flexibility to undertake longer distance events
The car now in its new home of Somerset, Its been well worth the effort I was delighted with the reception it achieved - Richards late father worked for Jowett Cars Limited - hence the car has been a purchase that forms a continual bond with the family - something that I took onboard within minutes of delivering the car - personally it made my day to the point I'm waiving my invoice for the delivery of it
Richard mentioned that he believes that he now has the prefect pair of sports cars - one that's 72 years old and the other one is pretty new but he's completely smitten with the Jupiter

So a day in sunny Somerset yesterday
The Jupiter has been put to good use by the family and is the constant source of fun - I went down to give it a check over and to attend a few minor niggles that had flagged up
All levels checked, brakes checked / adjusted and a minor oil leak on the rear axle, general check over, wheel nut torque & tyre pressures etc
The horn contact bridge on the steering column keeps playing up - its a Lucas design of stupidity - there is a superseded Lucas part that Jowett Car Spares have located for me and are sending out to resolve the issue but until then its a intermittent fault - I took the car out for a 5 mile road test ensuring that the brakes pulled up sharp on a couple of tests - Such a great little sports car and massively underrated by others
Then loaded to the clients trailer - the car is heading up country on Friday
And on Saturday will attend its very first Jowett Car Club event at Titsey 100 - The clubs re-enactment of the very first club meeting exactly 100 years to the date in exactly the same location - I'll be on hand to welcome it and the occupants
It's Alex, I'll post a proper introduction when I have my project here but you have a lot to answer for!
For everyone else - This car belongs to my other half's uncle, it lives at her aunts. Her grandads memoirs featuring his time working at Jowett are fascinating! Anyway, from not knowing much about Jowetts I'm smitten with this car. It really is fantastic and extremely loved by the family already.
The family enthusiasm thanks to this car also helped me get sign off for the next bit....
As a result of my time with it at the Titsey 100th anniversary meet, I've bought a Javelin through Chris which I'm going to build (and run!) as a historic racer. I was already doing a MK5 Golf GTI to go racing next year, but this seems like more fun and befitting my fabrication and engineering skills (I was a development engineer at JLR and had a TVR restoration workshop).
Can't wait to get stuck into it, but for now we'll have to make do playing with this Jupiter! Just need to talk Richard into doing the Mille Miglia.
Thank you again for doing such a nice job on this car and pointing me to this forum.
