Nearside front quarter panel fitted 



Piping bead patterned & trimmed for the nearside wing

Along with the chassis rail end caps 



Dashboard panel fitted - This also acts as the support for upper section of the steering column 



Steering wheel demasked and has responded well to the 2 tone paintwork - More to follow soon 

Ray - Thanks - although most things are going well but the blue paint is a utter nightmare - not mentioned this yet but some panels are on their third round of paint - It's one of those rare solid colours that contains a heavy white pigment - when polished its very easy to create a halo shadow effect between 2 coats of paint - same paint batch / same gun etc but one coat will vary slightly between another - I'll try to take some pics later but they probably wont show up that well - Its the one thing that's slowing me down with the fitting up & completion of the van 

The answer to your paint problems is to respray  that terrible blue, with a decent colour - there I said it 

Can I suggest a nice cream, or that old English white youv'e used on other panels ?

The problem with the majority of replica / period lights & fittings for classic vehicles is that they don't come with any gaskets which would prevent water ingress between the paint & fitting / aperture - A flexible body caulking is great for this job but there's very few manufactures / suppliers - I use a 3M product which is great - problem being is that you have purchase a full box which if you are just bolting a few parts up or even fitting a pair of wings would be difficult to get through - If anyone ever needs a few strips let me know and I'll post them out to you 



Headlamp bowls fitted / aligned (may require further alignment once I have the headlamps fitted & working 



Then had sort the terminals - Although the wiring harness is new annoyingly there are no dedicated earths and I'm having to individually build them in 



Headlamps completed these also incorporate the side lamps   



Flatted & polished the rear doors / rear panels 



Then fitted the rear lamps - again making up gaskets prior to fitting the units 



Rear reflectors & number plate also fitted at the same time 



The wiring harness only provided for rear tail & brake lights - I've run a separate 3 core harness from the rear to terminate under the dashboard - this will provision the supply for the left / right indicators alongside a reversing light - again I had to build in earth circuits - Not as easy as it may first appear as the rear body is ash framed - thankfully there is a chassis rail on either side that I can use for earthing 

 

Its all a standard Lechler Mac1 2k paint but a quality one (there's loads of cheap rubbish no name brands on the market that I wouldn't trust on a wheelbarrow let alone a car)

Looking good. For the front indicator wiring could you use black self adhesive clips to hold the wiring on the rear face of the bumper?

Also ( I imagine the answer is no or you would have done it ) would the indicators not fit the other way up so that water will not track down the wiring and into the lamp?

I have various chassis clips in stock including these but they look just as bad as cable ties would 



After a few trial runs of various products I used logo tape - This is a super strong wafer thin double sided adhesive normally used for reattaching decals / badges to paintwork / panels - Cut into fine strips then carefully placed onto the underside of the bumper iron 



Achieving exactly what I had intended 


 
The remaining additional wiring looms were made up and run in - all of which terminate under the dashboard or to the regulator box just on the outer face of the bulkhead

And the trafficators on either side - cable runs for these travel under the floor and along the chassis rails before running up to the dashboard - whilst underneath all other cabling which had just been positioned loosely by others with cable ties was properly secured with cable clips

New glass pulls for door glasses have now become available - I fitted the first one to the passenger side door glass 



Then fitted the door glass 

 

Along with the sprung load assister (no winding regulator) 



I'm now on with fitting the remaining door furniture amongst many other things

Along with the external door handle - I now have the door latching & locking as it should 



I needed to advance the paintwork on the problem area of the bulkhead in order to allow me to fit the bonnet - This will be flatted and polished this morning and hopefully I'll start to get the bonnet assembled & fitted 



One of the bonnet side panels has also been revisited from the paint prospective - Again I wasn't happy with a small area where the paint was ghosting - more later
