They are mate. Can’t tell you how stoked I am. First time I’ve gone this deep on a resto and after removing everything but the inner wings, to get the scuttle, front panel and wings to fit so well I’m pleased I went with heritage panels as I think something like Magnum would have ruined my experience. Ok, I could probably sort that but this took away some of that anxiety.

I was going to ask the same question - Heritage are pretty good and I've heard some pretty poor reports on Mangum but from personal experience nothing can beat the absolutely shocking & diabolical fit of Ex Pressed steel panels
There’s a thread on the mini forum or an how to improve gaps from a guy who used welding wire to add 3mm to the and slit his panels and welded in fillets to make gaps better. The outcome was good.
It’s these type of ‘tricks’ that don’t get passed on in the body trade. Probably only the classic trade sees these gaps since the advent of modern body assy. Coach building is a dying art Chris.👌
I found a thread on the Mig welding forum of a guy who was putting a v-tech lump in a mini and he had a link to a spit build. I started mine today using scrap 60x40x4 heavy duty box I had in the garage.
Here’s the build. The centre of the pole is roughly 39-40” but I will make an adjustable hanging frame with some stud bar and a couple of thrust type bearings to support the weight of the shell. Found weights on line of 310lb bare and 435lb with subframes so I’ll need 150kg castors so they should easily support the frame and car.
Todays work. Scrounged these scaff clamps off a building site for a fiver, the tigged them to a 36” length of 60x40x4 box. My Tig welding is improving.
Next up was weld a piece of 60x40 to the bottom. This one was 32” and was migged as I prefer the ease of use.
Today I finished both main frames aside from the castors and they have arrived but no time to fit them. A little grinding to clean them up and grind off a bit of crap from the frames then some paint.
Next up was a long awaited tidy up and mounted some brackets to get my swage and bender up out of the way. Still not super tidy but much better. Did manage a dead short on my Parkside battery charger because of the excess of grinding dust on the bench. Went up like a firework!😂
Not been in here in a while, I’ve still not done any more since the last post. I’ve put the car on eBay a couple of times for £3k but I’ve pulled it after changing my mind. Looking back it seems I’d be giving away my labour for the work I’ve put in here as the vehicle and panels equate to more than that. I’ll get back on it at some point. I just need to stop buying motorcycle projects😂
