Okay, latest update amidst teeming wet stuff, freezing cold and snow....
The downpipe cat turned up, but I've decided it would be better served fitting to my R75 so that will go there and the old one will be chopped up to fit the van.
MGF rad turned up, with fan which plugs straight into the wiring loom.....
It fits superbly into the hole in the front and just requires a bit of refief on the slam panel and lower crossmember to allow the rubber mounts to fit. not moaning about that. The rubbed area on the rad is still watertight so equally, not worried about that!
Todays foray was to sort out the gearshift cable mounts, seeing as a nice piece of steel arrived. The scriffy alloy thing came off and after an afternoon of cutting, bashing, welding and grinding, I had this:
Which is now in paint ready to fit. The roughly welded gear shift knuckle snapped off whilst I was fiddling positions, so that will go on after the weekend when the weather is supposed to dry out a bit. Oh yes, I've also invested in a pair of 1.3 front legs, NOS to hopefully get some movement in the front end and some ball joints for the bottom arms. all moving steadily forwards....
