Gaydon is the home of the British Motor Museum - they hold a joint Rootes Group & Old Ford Rally every year and for a number of years the Jowett Car Club has always been invited to stage a small display at the show - not sure why we are neither Rootes Group or Ford but hey its old cars so why not
I trailered Richards race Jupiter up to the show
And a few of our Midland Section members brought their Jowetts along
So this is merely the introduction to the event - Loads of pics to come from both of the marques along with a visit around the museum

So UK based Rootes Group absorbed a number of vehicle brands over a significant number of decades - Chrysler purchased the group in 1967 and used the brand name on a few of the models - In the late 70's Chrysler Europe collapsed and were taken over by PSA Peugeot - Citroen which by 2021 were known as Groupe PSA - PSA along with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles merged to form Stellantis in 2021 (who also absorbed the UK brand Vauxhall via PSA)
Dodge built commercial's within the group
But so did Commer
Car manufacturing brands included Singer
Chrysler (very rare 2 litre)
Hillman
Humber
Talbot
And Sunbeam
But then linked via the PSA tie up is Simca
Matra
And Rene Bonnet (which was absorbed by Matra in 1964)
Then come the specials / kit cars
This is a Clan Crusader which utilised the Hillman Imp engine (Likewise the similar shaped Ginetta G15 but there wasn't an example in attendance)
