This description of this car just showed up on facebook:
Here’s something a bit special? We’ve just rescued this in Somerset, England. We know it completed the 1961 RAC Rally as a frogeye, and shortly after was circuit racing with the Sebring front end as found. Was being run by Bob King, who was the Coventry Climax engine guru at the time, building motors for the F1 royalty in the ‘60s. Original colour was cherry red, but almost immediately it was repainted in a metallic blue like a Sprinzel car, then a BMC light blue like the Sebring Sprites, then a dark blue. The story from the long term family owners is that it raced in the US post ‘62, maybe with an English engine specialist working over there, before returning to the UK. Does this story ring any bells???
