I came very close to buying a 6x6 Pinzgauer - but without the tracks. Still fancy one despite having no use for it at all.
One for a group buy discussion?! A 6x6 and a steam jet-washer, what more could the right-thinking collective wish for?
Here you go then - choice of several in a online auction of ex MOD vehicles that starts tomorrow - stick a demountable body on it and it could become the BRM group recovery transporter

This should really be in a 6x6 thread, but we don't have one, so I'll add to this one.
This was the one I nearly bought.
It was while working in Lagos Nigeria around 1995-96. Alas I wasn't 100% convinced that the guy trying to sell it was actually the legal owner.
I later met an ex-pat civilian who was working with the Nigerian Army, and we were trying to get a couple of 6x6's from them. The army out there bought loads, but no training, so they'd break them almost immediately. Alas he got shipped home before we could close the deal.
jpsmit - Mentioned the Lada Niva in a recent post - its only fair that a pic should be posted of one - now a very rare motor here in the UK
Mmm Niva - hurray!
Strikey I had a Samurai as well - POC is so many ways but I loved it. They are very rare here now - Samurai and road salt don't mix.
In 2016 we did the Iceland/ Shetland/ Doc Martin tour. The night before we flew from Iceland to Aberdeen we stayed at a hotel less than a mile (as the crow flies) from the airport. Unfortunately as the road goes it was 5 miles and it was raining and cabs are very expensive. Oh and the hotel was on the former military base back in the back where people go to chop up stolen cars to fence them.
However out the window was this - sigh - what is it with me and weird. I can't recall now what it is but IIRC not a Pinzgauer or a Volvo.
A rust free disco...? Check the glove box for unicorns!
Allegedly so!
Haven't seen it yet, but it'll be the 4th car I've bought off the chap and they've all been under-described so far
V8, woofly, nice colour, nothing gaudy, 3.5T towing capacity - I've never been much of a Landie chap but I can see happy things on the highways and byways ahead

It doesn't stop toomanyprojects from running one has his tow / hauler but I'm aware he has had to throw a small fortune at it recently - personally I think that they are overpriced but way under rated - the majority appear to slag off LR in general - I'll just keep smiling and let mine do the work that I purchased it for
I feel qualified to like and knock in equal quantities having owned a 2a swb , a s3 lwb flat bed , a s3 lightweight and 2dr classic rangie. All rot prone money pits...but i'd have the lightweight or rr back in a heartbeat....then the brain would kick in and say noooo you fool.
