I love doing tiling and that shower area is very neat although I think I would have used wall boards in the shower area as they are essentially maintenance free and easier to dry off after a shower. Not sure about the tiles behind the basin! I would need the first tile behind the tap to be central to the tap or have the grout line between the tiles centred behind the tap unless that throws things out even more when you tile behind the wc? Coming on nicely though.
Emm - Shower tile boards - very nice, quick, practical & effective but too cheap of a look for this property, centre line for the basin splashback was considered but then that would have left 2 small tile slithers at each end - increase the size of the splashback and it would look out of proportion with the basin hence the compromise that I arrived at - but well spotted most will never take it on board - No tiles behind the WC either - Its an occasional use ensuite and not a hard wearing family bathroom - It will all blend look / good when finished

I didn't mean tile pattern boards but the boards with a sort of marble pattern effect. However, as you say for your character property what you have done is the best option. I am sure it will look fab when it is finished. (No pressure lol.)

One of the external projects currently being undertaken
Has part of the damp proof course treatment the external masonry has to have clear sealer applied to the first 1200mm
But the stone & bricks are covered in 152 years of filth
Slowly but surely I'm working my around the property pressure washing the grime off
I'm not using any chemicals as I want to retain some patina to masonry
But its certainly making a difference - I'm keen to get this completed whilst we have reasonably dry weather to allow the washed areas to dry out prior to the sealer application

Lots of things currently underway & on the boil
And one of them is this
The transfer of the Essex hoard of parts which I had recovered & consolidated at my barn - I was lucky to have the assistance of a fellow Jowetteer in the form of Scott who is over from the States - Scott undertakes Jowett / Lotus restorations alongside a few others - A lump of race preparation for client cars alongside his own - Based in LA and much like myself he is always in demand and never has to hunt for work - He's also a talented pilot when installed into the drivers seat of a race motor - something that he will undertake whilst he is visiting but more on that elsewhere in the forum

Arriving in Bradford the first challenge was to reverse the truck up the ramp to the rear entrance of Jowett Car Spares - with the truck heavily loaded the rear crossmember of the tail lift grounded out on the undulations in the concrete ramp
Several pieces of scrap memorial headstone placed to the rear of the truck wheels then reversed up onto gave the clearance required to get the truck up to the roller shutter
And off came the parts
Quickly - less than an hour and we had the truck emptied
The team were mob handed
The approximate 4 ton of stock that we have just delivered adds to the substantial / vast stock holding that Jowett Car Spares already retains
Its now down to the team at JCS to sift / sort through the stock and allocate it to racking - they have been immensely busy already in making the room for what we have delivered whilst also servicing the demand of members requirements for parts - They are just awaiting the release of a further unit on the same site which will alleviate the space requirements
The parts are all housed in a former mill building in not the most favourable area of Bradford but it's at a cost effective lease - The business model works to supply parts in order to retain members Jowetts on the road rather than use the facility / service with a ulterior motive of revenue raising - Instead enough income is generated to fund running costs of the building, finance for new parts production and what small surplus remains is reinvested into new tooling for parts etc - The team / staff are all volunteers
I continue to be amazed - not just by the current haul of parts but by the spares scheme. With the MG everything is currently reproduced (though quality is often compromised) but the comprehensiveness and even the business model of the Jowett Spares scheme is outstanding. I would be hard pressed to think of a comperable example. Well done!
