For my sins I'm a member of our local village hall committee - its a nice building that's about 30 years old and 3 years ago the small hall was extended to accommodate the local nursery group - During normal none pandemic times both halls are over subscribed and we cant always meet demand - none the less we are always looking at ways of expending the halls facilities - latest project for me is a permanent AV installation in the main hall - we managed to gain some grant funding from some of the local trusts to install a specialist overhead projector installation to avoid the cables trailing across the floor / projector on a table propped up on books in the centre of the hall scenario
To ensure its user friendly we are also replacing the screen from the faff of a ceiling mounted pull down spring loaded type to a automated electric one - whilst the projector installation was undertaken by a professional AV installer - myself & one of my neighbours (retired electrical engineer) proceeded to install a new ring main power supply up in the hall loft to supply the projector & screen but also the supply for the audio loop amplifier for the hearing induction loop + wireless microphone + over limit audio noise cancelation system
Typically the consumer units / incoming supply is at the opposite end of the building to where we need the power so its a 100 metre ring installation over a suspended ceiling with just a narrow walkway and even narrower joists to balance / access / walk from - we got 75% of the installation completed yesterday but need to go back up this afternoon to complete it - This morning I feel like I've done the Olympics then the Krypton Factor assault course afterwards
They are long days but the benefit of being self employed is that to a great extent I can please myself - so yesterday was a day off from the workshop to make things happen up at the hall - I have a little running around today for the workshop but most of the day will be back up at the hall

We completed the AV ring main this afternoon & commissioned the system
Simple controls - we were hoping to link the present audio system that we have in the hall to the projector system but there is way too much feedback - so a separate system will be required - just another job - on top of this I cleared the hall loft area of 15 large black sacks of general rubbish - mainly contactors waste - plumber / electrician / fire alarm engineer - everyone that has worked up there just leaves their crap behind along with not replacing the insulation panels that they pulled up / moved in order to access the work area - Wont be happening in future - All works in future will be inspected & signed off by myself prior to any invoices being paid - Hopefully I can get back to the proper day job tomorrow
Absolutely gorgeous the Lambretta panels , but wasn't it to be a patina job? Where you painted looks better than new.

A lot of it does not show in the images - but there are areas where the paint is rubbed through to the primer, nicks & chips left rather than rectified - once its all fitted back up the fresh paint is then rubbed over with a ultra fine scotchbrite just to dull it back to match the rest of the scooter
I think I'v seen this before in my son's garage which is full of scooters now, but when I had it all sorts of classic cars were done in it, now I am reduced to a mobile home and single garage. I want my garage back!!!!!

To best of my knowledge 'Jowett' never produced period enamel signage - well I have never come across any and I'm not aware of anyone else in the club that owns anything - so I set out on a mission to see if I could come up with something in form of period signage for the marque
Take a laser cut piece of metal with the Jowett factory script then a sheet steel backing piece - apply primer & paint
Then put them together - I'm going to work a few designs and see where I get to
