I've owned her probably 8 years, lost the keys for 5, got a new ignition barrel a couple of years ago only to find she's wired exclusively in a fetching shade of red, put her to one side, once again 2 years just disappeared right like that - poof!
Anyway, found the keys in a carrier bag while clearing out some junk the other week (at least I can be sure I didn't mislay them - 'twas definitely the work of a tidying pixie!) & treated her to a fresh battery, fuel, & celebratory keyring
The right carb promptly p1ssed fuel all over the floor, so it was treated to a gentle tap with the nearest tapometer
Which to my surprise, delight, & mild chagrin, sorted it!!
Then, more in hope than expectation, we hit the button, and...
So we went for a ride
Lovely. 5 years of slumber and you'd never tell - torquey, fun, cool and very very charming
You do have some nice toys, and the right tools for the job. Lovely little hammer that. What else have you lost the keys for,in say the last ten years or so? 🤣🤣
Hate to throw in a dissenting voice. It's absolutely fab but IMHO I'd want a set of springer forks on it.
The forks are on the to do list - but only to throw the legs in a lathe to get rid of the reflectors and unnecessary bracketry & gubbins, other than that they work really well, and I like the aesthetics / true to the roots 'reuse repurpose' etc. aspects as well
Other thought was a second front disc, but in truth the front is adequate and as with many shafties the rear is excellent so that may be a job for another day...!
