Like it loath it 'Hot Rodding' Has been been around for nearly a century - initially born & developed in the USA its taken all forms of vehicles - stripped them / chopped them / lowered / raised and more than the anything made the car look, sound and in many cases go faster - It even has a language all of its own - so your 'Rods' then - images appreciated but here's a few to start
Cat amongst the Pigeons, Devils Advacardo whatever...... cant tell me this is not a Hot Rod, stripped body bigger engine and a blower, welcome Mr Birkin
i like rods that are simple , subtle(ish) and just don't look like they are trying too hard. crazy paint , wacky styling and more bling than a west coast rapper just don't do it for me. roadsters , coupes , vans , pickups , yanks , brits , im not fussy , they just need that "something"!
Smoke City Wheelers "Chopped" Routemaster partybus, I have got a few headaches on there partying all night at Rod Runs, the chop is a bit cleverer than most people realise, the lower cabin was not chopped, but the sides were repanneled and lowered to give 11"? to give the chopped appearance, the roof, however was chopped 11" as it was basically a giant place for dossing down and other things.., downstairs was PARTY..... Party....Party..... Magic times indeed.
OK, quick story. A friend (Jeremy) who I know from MG Midget world lives in Sault Ste Marie Ontario. The Soo as it is called is an interesting Steel producing community about 700km from Toronto. The nature of the community is such that what goes there pretty much stays there. Super long story short, there is a rumour of a car parked in a garage after the owner died. Through his wife, he discovers the rumor is true, meets the widow and purchased the car. Essentially unmidified or unrestored since built - and even the builders are still around.
