I have a 302 Cleveland here if you want it. I was going to build for a project but went down a different path. Postage may suck a bit
They make good boat anchorsā¦š¤£
302C, the Americans love them, it an Aussie engine, they should have a HD block, possibly 4 bolt mains too, but Clevelands weigh much more than the Windsors, so the obvious advantage of fitting Cleveland heads onto a 302 has its merits, hence the all conquering BOSS302, and the disadvantage of low down fuel dropout because of the HUGE ports, and that was after the exhaust ports were compromised with a down turn to get the engine exhausts between the Mustang shock towers , and if you ever change Cleveland heads in situ, put in an order for a back brace before you start.
Many of the AFR heads have the potential to flow more than a Cleveland head, so the potential of building a SBF with a set of AFR heads, on a 427 stroker Windsor, lightweight torque monster, weighing about 60lbs more than a RV8, physically smaller too in in low deck engines, and potential to hit 6-700 ft lbs of torque not far off idle, ..... Mmmmmm, Mr TooManyProjects this would be a good upgrade for a orange MGB
Zinder looks a lovely old girl. I used to have 2 JRT's that were totally different characters. Meet Ziggy and Spike. Ziggy (the tan one) was my favourite but don't tell anyone.

Finally got all the parts to put the engine back in.
Once i got it fired up i had 30lb of pressure at just above idle so happy days. I will still install the pressure adjuster to make sure i can play with it more.
I have also been getting on with the body, vinegar and wire brush took care of the body frame. Painted it in anti rust and mounted main rails back the chassis.
Also have been working on the smaller pieces of the wood. Most of it i can use some of it i need to remake. Namely the read door posts.

With more progress going on and the panels too, attention was needed on the gaps. Being a 67 year old wooden body car this was always going to be a game of luck as much as skill knowing it had been hit on the drivers side. Once i rebuilt the wood back to the way it was originally i had no idea if the panels would fit let alone well.
Most of it went well just one gap im yet to get the way i like, but here is some pics of the progress

Been working on getting the doors to fit right. Always a fun job when you have rebuilt most of the wood. Lots of shims and fine adjustments. The drivers side still needs to come in about 4mm. The passengers side needs a little more work on the latch before i can test is properly.

With all the alignments done and all the panels fitting to my satisfaction, it was time to pull it all apart again. It is now 2 projects in 1, the chassis and the mechanicals and then the body work. I have started making progress on both, i have repaired and painted the rear lever shocks, run the fuel line from the rear to the engine, removed the leaking brake master for repair and done a few small things including laying out the wiring to make sure it is all in the right place.
The body is only just in the first stages of filler to see how flat or not it actually is.
