I'd hasten to say we've all had an encounter with a Mini.
I've never owned one, but back in the 80's I ran a Mk3 Cortina. I used to get it MOT'd via Andy Saunders garage in Poole. I went there for three reasons
It was local
Andy Saunders was a prolific customizer
They had a Mini Pickup as a loaner
The Mini was hoot - pretty much worthless back in the day, but a strong £10K now - as with everything !!
It predates digital pictures, but I've got strong memories of trying to go around roundabouts faster and faster, whilst my own car was getting serviced

My first car was a 1970 MkII Mini and lots of fun was had with it - I have owned another couple since those times but sadly all before I kept any photographic records - what I do have is quite a few pics taken at Goodwood Revival in 2019 where the classic Mini enjoyed being one of the event highlights & themes has it celebrated it's 60th birthday
These last 2 were on a mock set of the ever famous film 'The Italian Job'
If I have already told this story I apologize but at least one of the vans made it to the colonies where it was used to train BMC techs. It showed up at an RV dealer half way up the Clappison's Cut outside Hamilton Ontario. I went to investigate as I had never seen an RV with fins (farina fins?) . Behind the wheel I noticed that from left to right you saw brake - gas - clutch. I mentioned it to the dealer whose exact words were 'yup, a fella would want to practice a few times before he took that on the road.' I think he wanted 12k CDN and I have watched it increase in value to at least 100k over the years.
