The Leyland Sherpa - in later years it became known as the LDV 200 or LDV400 - a much maligned workhorse - looked after they were a perfectly serviceable & usable vehicle - dam sight cheaper than the blue badged marque equivalent which were just as unreliable & rot prone - I ran one for a few years and apart from servicing and a new clutch did me just fine
They came in all sorts of variants - vans, pickups, campers, petrol, diesel & even the legendry V8 rover engine was shoehorned into some of them as a factory option

After years running A55 pick ups my Friends Dad exhausted the supply of vaguely roadworthy ones and went modern with an early Sherpa ( this was in the late 70s) I remember it being a pleasant old thing. Drove loads of them for work and always liked them.
