The thread for all rear engined cars - I'll kick off with a few but please add your own - for variety it would be nice if we could space out between others the models from the predominant manufactures who relied on this platform for all models over several decades i.e. VW / Porsche
An all-time favourite - came close to buying a few BITD, they all had issues that would have cost more to fix than they were worth, and I didn't have anywhere to tuck them away sadly; rare as rocking horse droppings now...
(Yes, it's pre-2001 - just! Early K series car with that lobbed away and a 225bhp all steel dry sump 1400 Busa - built as the ultimate Ring tool but life has got in the way - still have it and will be coming out to play this year all being well

Need to post my own (next) project. Very much looking forward to a rear engined vehicle.
OTOH my real tale of woah and sorrow concerns an '86 Skoda Estelle (120?) which showed up on our local ad website (Kijiji) about 5 years ago. 8600km from new, parts car, no rust, perfect shale - $1600 CAD. (900 pounds) I tried and tried to get in touch to no avail until finally the car was gone.
It showed up at a car cruise night about a year later and really was as good as the ad. A little later it showed up for sale again at ten times the price. Sigh. Skodas (and Ladas and especially Dacias) only came to Canada for a very few years and only in tiny quantities - but for someone like me who loves oddball cars they are one of the Holy Grails.

130's had a better suspesion set up than the 120's and could be indecently thrashed! Swmbo had a 120 and the very first mod was to permanantly install a 25kg bag of sand in the frunk...massively improved handling/stability!
