No more snow, progress is slow!
Had a small window of free time today to get a little bit more done on the angle lock lever and its pivot point. I used a long bolt from a VW Passat or Jetta or A4 subframe bushing as the pivot bolt with some large washers to act as the pivot for the lever. I ended up welding the two utility trailer spring shackles together and rounding off the ends to make it look better, then found a thin tube which I slit to fit into the hole in the bottom of the lever. (The bolt was not quite thick enough, but the length was right...and it was not rusty.....and it had a matching nut to go with it....and.....)
The forward position will fit into the slot in the plow frame and lock it in place
rearward releases it.....
So now, once the paint has a chance to dry, I can try it out. I thought I would clean things up and at least get a coat of primer on the lever and some of the under frame.
I want this thing ready to hook up and go next year!
