If those pics give you the heebies, check out this vid (if short of time, from circa 6.40 and especially circa 7.40) - all routine boatyard fare, inc casually strolling underneath a couple of tons of boat held only by 2 strops to wield a paintbrush. All looks a bit scary, but it's how it's done and accidents seem to be thankfully very uncommon

You all missed a good one earlier in the year in the Gumtree Freebies, a Thornycroft gentleman's motor yacht in need of full renovation. I think it was 1930's and about 45ft, lots of rot in the hull, had been used as a houseboat for a while.
Thornycroft built everything from 'small' motor yachts through torpedo boats to Destroyers.
